Long A CVCe decodable readers are a fun, engaging way to learn to decode and build fluency with long vowel sounds! This set includes 11 different long vowel CVCe decodable readers with the long A spelling pattern. These no-prep CVCe worksheets decodable passages allow you to easily teach and reinforce decoding skills. The Long A CVCe decodable passages are true decodable text, with a high proportion of patterned words thoughtfully written into each story – a practice backed by the science of reading.

This awesome collection includes 11 different Long A passages, each with two versions of word work included for each passage: one focused on fluency and one focused on comprehension.

In the first version, you read, circle the long A pattern words, count how many, and write them on the line. In the second version, you read, circle, and count how many long A patterned words, then answer comprehension questions about the passage.
